BRAXTON

I am going to try this blog thing because everyone keeps asking me to keep a blog like my cousin Stacey  to keep up with everything that's going on with Baby Braxton! He is the best thing that has ever happened to my husband and myself even through all of the sickness and emergency c-section!!
Braxton's due date was March 27th.
On March 7th I noticed that he had not been moving like I was used to so when I went to work on March 8th they got me an appointment at 8:30am to see what was going on with Braxton. They listened and we heard his heart rate which helped me out a little but I was still worried because it had been over a day since I had felt him move. They finally took me to a room to do a test and I had to press a button when/if I felt him move, well the Dr came back in and I hadn't pressed the button so she got out this other thing and shocked him because that's suppose to make them jump, well when she did that his heart rate dropped from the 120s to 89 (pretty scary) she said get up lets go to the Ultrasound room and we are going to do another test on you, this test lasted 30 min and the Ultrasound tech watches for so many different things! (I love Tiffany she was the one who did all of my ultrasounds throughout my whole pregnancy) well the test ended up being 2 out of 10 which wasn't good so the Dr. told me to go straight to labor and delivery and not to make any other stops. Luckily I had a co-worker with me during all of this testing and she was kind enough to drive me straight to the hospital. When we got to labor and delivery my husband, mom, boss and I have no idea who else was there they made all of them leave and started getting me checked in, they rushed me down stairs to have my c-section. Yes I was all by myself, no one at all got to go with me! He was born on March 8th at 9:52am and he was 6lbs 1oz and 20.5" long.. I got to see him around lunch time. Braxton was a healthy baby he was in regular nursery and everything!

Mr. Braxton has been lifting his head since he was born, and he's getting better at holding his head up and getting more alert as well.

March 12th he had his 1 week check up  and his weight went down to 5lbs 14 oz. but other than his weight dropping he was good and healthy!!

On March 13th I look down while feeding braxton and he was holding the bottle all by himself, he's so smart! Since then he has also started holding my hand sometimes so I can't pull the bottle out of his mouth to burp him or check to see how many oz he has had.

Lucas came over on March 13th  and saw me feeding Braxton and he says "umm... Braxton's having Chocolate Milk" I said " you think he likes chocolate milk like you do" and Lucas responds "yes"

We have this neat little thing my cousin and aunt got me at the baby shower, so I can lay Braxton down inside and you can zip it up and its a mesh screen to keep the bugs from getting on him (I use it so the dogs cant be licking him while I do a load of laundry or something)  and my mom comes over and before she can get into the door Lucas slings the door open and says "Danell has Braxton in a cage" so now we call that Braxton's cage because we thought that was funny.

On March 15th he laughed for the first time, he sounded like a chicken.

March 16th I looked down at Braxton while Dustin was at work and I told him "Daddy loves you and misses you Braxton" he had the biggest toothless smile on his face!! (so cute!)

March 18th his umbilical cord fell off.

March 20th we had to call the pediatrician to get Braxton an appointment--His weight was 6 lbs and 11 oz because he hasn't been eating good because of thrush so they gave me drops for that, and he has also been pulling on his ears but that wasn't nothing the Dr said he just learned where his ears are at!!

March 26th was his 2 weeks appointment and his weight 7 lbs and 5 oz. was a regular check up everything still looks great!!

March 27th was his original due date and everyone kept telling us this was the day that was going to change the way he sleeps at night but as of right now hes still doing the same sleep pattern waking up every 3-4 hours to eat! sometimes he might go 4-5 hours depending on how many oz he ate the time before.

March 28th I have officially been in the line of fire for Braxton he was going #2 and we were waiting on him to finish so we could get him cleaned up and he starts throwing up, so we pick up him (by this time he is finished going to bathroom) take him to the bathtub so we can wash him off and this goober pees everywhere! Running all down his daddy's leg and all over my arm!

After all of this 3 weeks so far we still love him more than anything in this world and wouldn't trade him for anything!! Daddy & Mommy are glad that he came 3 weeks early so we can spend extra time with him!!
